
Two Options for Using Financial Aid to Purchase Books
Option 1: Use Financial Aid in the College Bookstore
Financial aid grants and loans may be available to assist with books and supplies in theCollege Bookstore. Your "anticipated" aid is a "Bookstore Credit" that is available for you to use when purchasing books/supplies at the College Bookstore during the preapproved days to charge at the beginning of each term.
Option 2: Opt-Option: Purchase Class Books Outside College Bookstore
If you would like to request your federal financial aid funds (grants or loans) in advance to purchase your books and supplies outside of the college bookstore, anOPT-OUT optionwill be available during thebookstore charges period dates.
Steps to Request
- Use a computer to visit theFinancial Aid Book Advance Application.
- Complete all the required information.
- You must provide a quote for the book(s) being purchased at outside seller.
- Amount cannot exceed cost of the books as shown on quote, plus an estimated tax amount (8.25%).
- Shipping charges can only be added to advance of the seller provides a quote along the cost of the book indicate shipping charges.
Check Advance:
Advances are issued in the form of checks (ACH) to purchase books outside the Campus Bookstore.
