Accessing your personal drive
Every student and employee account will have a personal drive, or "p drive," connected to it where you can store files and access them anytime you log into your account.
Accessing your personal drive on a college computer
When you log into a college computer, your personal drive will already be mapped to it. You can access it by clicking on theFile Explorerfrom the taskbar or theStart menu, or press theWindows logo key + E, then clicking onThis PC. Your personal will be the folder with your username in the title.
Important:You will need toinstall and connect to the College's VPNto map and access your personal drive anytime you are off campus.
Accessing your personal drive off-campus, on a personal computer
If you want to access your personal drive on a personal computer, you'll need to map it to your computer.

Map your personal drive on a Windows PC
Windows 11
- OpenFile Explorerfrom the taskbar or theStart menu, or press theWindows logo key + E.
- SelectThis PCfrom the left pane. Then, on the File Explorer ribbon, selectMore>Map network drive.
- In theDrivelist, select a drive letter. (Any available letter will do.)
- In theFolderbox, type the path to your personal drive:
Students:Enter\\texas\student$\then yourfirst initial,last name, andlast 4 digits of your BC ID. (For example, John Doe would be \\texas\student$\jdoe1234)
Employees:Enter\\texas\student$\then yourfirst initialandlast name. For example, John Doe would be \\texas\student$\jdoe) - To reconnect when you sign in to your PC, selectReconnect at sign-in.
- Select Finish
