COVID-19 Update for Employees: May 3
GATOR MART DRIVE-THRU FOOD DISTRIBUTION
All BC students who are currently enrolled or who have been enrolled in the past year are eligible for food from Gator Mart.The Gator Mart drive-thru food distribution is on Wednesdays from 4 – 6 p.m.
- Students should bring their student ID card and Houston Food Bank card (if available).
- Distribution will take place in the overhang area of the Sadler Health Sciences Building.
- To protect the safety of all food recipients and staff, the following guidelines set forth by the CDC and the Houston Food Bank will be followed:
- Drive under the Sadler Health Sciences Building overhang and stop next to a table placed in that area.
- Pre-packed boxes and bags of groceries will be on the table.
- 退出你的车子,打开你的行李箱,and load the groceries into your trunk. Be careful not to touch the table; just touch the boxes and bags of groceries. If you accidentally touch the table, alert one of the staff and they will clean the table after you leave.
- All staff and food recipients will maintain a six-foot distance at all times.

COVID-19 EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
As a reminder, tomorrow, Tuesday, May 5, 2020, any credit student who is eligible for Title IV and is enrolled in the spring and/or summer 2020 terms may apply for COVID-19 Emergency Assistance. Funds are limited, so all applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis.Any student who withdrew from the spring semester prior to Spring Break is not eligible for funding. Additionally, non-credit, dual-credit, CBIT, Community Education and students who were 100% online prior to Spring Break are not eligible for COVID-19 Emergency Assistance.
Students can find out if they are eligible by clicking the link provided below and completing a quick questionnaire to determine their eligibility to apply COVID-19 Emergency Assistance.
We ask that you communicate with your students through your course platform that these funds are available beginning Tuesday, May 5, 2020 via the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance application. Please feel free to utilize the below verbiage.
COVID-19 Emergency Assistance
Students, you may be eligible to apply for COVID-19 Emergency Assistance to cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19 (including expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, child care and transportation). Check your eligibility atwww.d-onis.com/coronavirus/CARESAct/.
To be eligible to apply for these funds you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a credit student currently enrolled at Brazosport College during the Spring or Summer 2020 Semesters;
- Be a student who was not 100% online prior to Spring Break;
- Completed and filed a FAFSA with Brazosport College; and
- Meet all financial aid eligibility requirements.
If you are eligible, you immediately will be able to access the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance application through your D2L account. All applications are reviewed on a first come, first serve basis.
