Vision Duo

The Clarion at Brazosport College is pleased to bring the talents of Vision Duo to Lake Jackson on Feb. 6 for a concert highlighting classical works with a contemporary twist.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature violinist Ariel Horowitz and percussionist Britton-René Collins. The pair will explore musical genres and sonic possibilities for violin and percussion while contributing to the ongoing redefinition of classical music programming and structures.

Ariel and Britton formed their duo after becoming co-winners of the Concert Artists Guild International Competition’s Ambassador Prize. In doing so, the pair quickly discovered their shared passion for post-genre and contemporary music, promoting systemic change, and centering equity and access in musical spaces — as well as a craving for soup dumplings and Starbucks, respectively.

The duo’s upcoming tours take them to communities across the United States, from New York to Kentucky to California, performing their “Genre-Fication” program, which explores the exciting, underexplored sound world of violin and percussion.

Tickets for the show are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students and children.

Other upcoming shows in the Clarion’s 2022-23 performance season include Tony Jackson (Feb. 17, 2023), Lonestar (March 24, 2023), Rising Tide: The Crossroads Project (March 27, 2023) and Gina Chavez (May 19, 2023).
