Brazosport College to recognize Crime Prevention Month throughout October
In 1984, the National Crime Prevention Council designated October as Crime Prevention Month with the goal of spreading the word about personal safety while reducing crime.
Since then, Crime Prevention Month has become officially promoted by thousands of communities throughout the country.
Brazosport College and the Brazosport College Police Department is recognizing this year’s Crime Prevention Month with a full slate of events and activities throughout October. Activities will include opportunities to meet and greet the College’s police officers, as well as a variety of different personal safety and self-defense courses. The BC Police Department will also be hosting a National Night Out community block party that will feature food, games and plenty of fun.
All events are open to the public. These events not only provide opportunities to meet some of BC’s police officers and gather safety and crime prevention tips, it’s also a chance to visit and learn a little about the BC campus.
