The prestigious National Community Band will be appearing at The Clarion at Brazosport College on Sunday, July 10. The concert, which begins at 3:30 p.m., will feature a world-class conductor and high-quality musicians from across the country.

Admission to the concert is free and no tickets are required.

The National Community Band is administered by Gerald Guilbeaux, a Past President of Association of Concert Bands with many years of experience organizing musicians from around the country. The band consists of musicians from community bands from across the country.

Colonel John Bourgeois, Director Emeritus of the United States Marine Band will conduct the ensemble, which will be hosted by the Brazosport College Music Department.

Bourgeois was the 25th director of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, with a career that has spanned nine presidential administrations, from Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower to Bill Clinton. As director of “The President’s Own,” Bourgeois was Music Advisor to the White House. He selected the musical program and directed the band on its traditional place of honor at the U.S. Capitol for four Presidential inaugurations.
