NWS meteorologist to offer storm preparedness insights
Living close to the Gulf Coast leaves Brazoria County and its residents vulnerable to whatever nature sends our way. A watchful eye should always be on the open water and the possibility of tropical systems.
一个s a result, Gulf Coast residents should always be prepared and have a plan in place in case of storm.
To assist in this preparation, Brazosport College is hosting a hurricane preparedness seminar, titled “Should I Stay or Should I Go,” at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31.
Presented in the BC Library, guest speaker Dan Reilly, from the National Weather Service in Houston, will be on hand to share his expertise on hurricanes and how we should prepare for the potential of one coming ashore in our area.
Reilly is the Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the NWS in Houston and has more than 27 years of experience in the field.
Registration for the Aug. 31 seminar is available at choosebc.info/PREPARE. For more information, call (979) 230-3366.
